@mary: when i visited them at the home they're in i didn't see suffering, i saw two people that couldn't do anything themselves, kept alive on feeding tubes. i didn't witness pain. Both Janet and Jeffrey made sporadic noises one of the staff members attributed to stress, related to having to sit up for feeding in their wheel chairs, they also said they made those "stress noises" when they were bathed. But neither Janet nor Jeffrey appeared to be in pain, however their mother Annette described not being able to see, talk, hear, speak or move as such a poor quality of life, she didn't imagine they'd want to live this way.
